FRICK this was much longer, but then I lost it in a browser crash so y'all get this, sorry. Oh yeah, spoilers (although Marvel Rising really runs on the strength of its characters (and a little bit pacing/editing/cutting/stuff), not its plot).

  • Marvel Rising: Initiation -- 08:20 | Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl use the Hero Watch app to find someone to be their target for their first team-up.
  • Marvel Rising: Initiation -- 15:20 | Ghost Spider tracks the location of her friend Kevin's phone after he doesn't show up where they were planning
  •

  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 04:30 | Ms. Marvel takes a video of Captain Marvel flying overhead, cut to Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl watching it later on the grass
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 05:40 | Squirrel Girl talks to Ms. Marvel about their page on the Hero Watch app, describing it as a "post updates to your page/people can follow you"
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 15:10 | (Minor) Daisy Johnson pokes fun at how Patriot made the same brag on his Hero Watch page
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 30:50 | Ms. Marvel is re-watching the video from before and gets a call from Squirrel Girl, and ignores it by throwing her phone against the wall
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 33:10 | After a talk with her Ami, Ms. Marvel picks up her phone and calls back Squirrel Girl and leaves a message
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 33:40 | "How did you find me?" "Luck, I guess. *waves phone* Okay, maybe Hero Watch helped me out too."
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 38:40 | As Ms. Marvel gets teleported away by the bad guy, she pulls out her phone...
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 39:30 | ... and Squirrel Girl, who was just too late to reach her, gets a notification on her phone. Ms. Marvel had posted an audio message on their Hero Watch page describing where she was teleported to.
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 43:30 | Patriot walks out of a building while on his phone
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 43:50 | Squirrel Girl tracked down Patriot through his phone -- "Once I hacked your social media accounts, it was SUPER easy to ping your GPS." (Waving her phone, implying she did it through her phone?)
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 46:50 | Patriot pulls up a holographic map of the SHIELD facility on his phone-shaped thing? Unless that's special SHIELD-tech, and not actually a phone?
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 1:12:50 | Ms. Marvel talks about the video of Captain Marvel she has on her phone and watches all the time, to Captain Marvel, who she has just met and fought alongside. "Which... now that I mention it, is also pretty weird/uncomfortable? Sorry. But, all I've ever wanted is to be, you."
  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 1:18:10 | Ms. Marvel watches the video of Captain Marvel again. "Guess I probably don't need this anymore, now that I, actually know her. But it helps remind me of, what I'm here for. What we're ALL here for."
  •

  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 00:30 | Ghost Spider recieves a phone call from her dad while flying to catch a bad guy, and falls into an open cellar door. After she doesn't pick up, the phone then shows that there's a long list of missed calls from Dad. It then gives a 1-hour reminder of band practice.
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 01:00 | (Minor) The old-man owner of the shop which the cellar is the storage to (a Stan Lee cameo -- the shop is "Excelsior! Vegan Donuts") pulls out a NOT-smartphone -- a cordless landline -- to dial the cops
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 02:10 | Daisy Johnson: "... and my phone *holds up her phone* says [Exile] is still here."
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 02:30 | Both in the middle of that fight, (in a warehouse, both not-yet-on-the-same-team looking for the same bad guys), Daisy calls Ghost Spider. Also Patriot is on that call, too.
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 02:30 | Interrupting that call, Exile grabs Daisy's phone from her. "Is THIS how you catch up so quick?"
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 03:30 | Daisy: "Don't worry we can track Exile-- except he TOOK my PHONE!" Squirrel Girl: "Exile's got your tracking program!" Daisy: "Don't worry, once I redownload it and tweak the program to respond faster we'll be able to track him again. [to Ghost Spider] My program picks up Exile's energy signature when he teleports."
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 10:00 | "Hala's gone." Exile: "I know. *waves phone* I was there." (This is... weird, because unless I missed something, nobody had any phones out, doing ANYTHING (taking pictures/videos, e.g.) during that fight or afterwards, as far as we saw?) "But her ship had tech that could find inhumans, and Quake's tracking program taps directly into SHIELD's satellite network. If we merge them, we can find EVERY inhuman on the planet."
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 11:20 | Daisy ~gets past the security-alert-caused lockout~ on the secret base fancy-computer (see below), and starts using it to scan for Exile(?), and plugs her phone into it (to re-download the program?)
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 12:00 | Daisy notices that someone definitely was there because she had plugged her phone in, but now it's not
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 12:40 | Daisy: "Why are you here?" Ghost Spider: "I needed your program?"
  • [note: no mention of Daisy taking her phone back]
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 21:10 | Daisy: "Gwen, parents don't call kids for weeks just to yell at them. *hands her a phone* If I'm wrong, we'll hang up. I'll be right here." Gwen pushes the phone and it says 'calling Dad' and says "Hi". Credits.

Non-phone things for comparison:

  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 01:30 | Ms. Marvel's Ami tells her that "maybe daughters who want sleep shouldn't stay up all night playing World Of Crafty Craft on the computer!" (This isn't a smartphone appearance -- it's the only appearance of a laptop or desktop in the entire movie, for comparison.) (Also I... love her Ami.)
  • Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts -- 08:50 | Desktop computer, but in a restricted area in the Secret Base and with all the batcave-style multi-screens and blinkenlights that make it not a Normal Computer.

EDITed to add afterwards:

  • Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors -- 1:14:30 | Notable possible OMISSION when Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl check the time they were given on piece of paper, not, e.g., written down on their smartphones/planner/calendar app or something.

Marvel Rising is a series, so we'll probably be seeing more of it (Heart Of Iron drops April 3rd), and I'll be keeping an eye out. And even if, as was pointed out in the video that inspired me to look for this, not that much in the mainline Live Action Marvel movies, cell phones do appear at least a bit in Spiderverse, and probably elsewhere.

I'll also probably, at some point soon, toss out a post with some actual thoughts generalizing off of this list. But in the meantime, feel free to give your own thoughts in the comments if you have any!

About

I think I like to try to think
myself to be somewhere between
Alice, and Ozma, and Tiffany Aching,
and Syvie (and you see the tack I am taking) --
-- but acting honestly (if I have to be),
I will concede I seem to be most nearly
just the Dormouse.
